(P3): Daydream Video Brainstorm

At first glance, this project may seem daunting and demanding, but I see it as an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and create an engaging video. When I first contemplated the daydream project, I envisioned a literal interpretation: a sequence where I’m doing schoolwork only to drift into a daydream that would be animated. However, I had a breakthrough idea to incorporate a VR headset, which I believe will add a captivating twist to the narrative.

The video will begin in my room as I tackle my homework, clearly succumbing to boredom. Suddenly, I’ll spot a ‘brand new’ VR headset and decide to explore its possibilities. Once I put it on, the scene will transition into the animated portion. I plan to alternate between first-person and third-person perspectives in this virtual world, allowing viewers to experience both my exploration and my sense of wonder.

As I look around, I’ll find myself in a surreal tunnel system, a striking alternate reality. Just when I think I’m safe, a creature will emerge from the shadows and begin to pursue me. In a panic, I’ll try to remove the headset, only to discover it’s stuck. The tension will build as the scene shifts between the creature drawing closer and my frantic attempts to escape. Just as the creature is about to strike, I’ll finally manage to take off the headset and collapse on the floor in exhaustion.

I want to conclude the video on a cliffhanger: after all that turmoil, I’ll reach for the headset again, and the video will cut to black just as I put it on. While this project presents a significant challenge to realize my vision, I’m determined to embrace the creative process, have fun, and experiment along the way, hoping for the best outcome.
