Artist Statement:
Memories do not live in perfect stillness; they flicker, warp, and shift, slipping through our grasp the harder we try to hold them. In this work, fragments of cinematic memory are cast onto picture frames and a vase of flowers — vessels of nostalgia, beauty, and decay.
The projections waver and distort, bending around surfaces that cannot fully contain them. In their distortion, they echo the way memories fade, reshape, and betray the clarity we believe they once had. Moments we treasure most become softened at the edges or strangely magnified, leaving us with something both familiar and unknowably altered.
This piece invites viewers to sit inside the instability of remembrance — to witness how time, emotion, and longing can transform even our most vivid moments into something new, something fragile, something beautifully broken.
